Off the beaten (sound)track.
A release uploaded to RouteNote can only be labelled as a soundtrack when it’s the soundtrack to an actual piece of media. This could be a film, a video game, play, musical, or TV show.
They don’t have to be big, high profile works; a short film someone made at school, or a home-made video game, are both fine!
If you’re uploading a soundtrack release with us, here’s a few tips to ensure you fly through moderation.
- Make sure that you select the Soundtrack genre
- If a release is classed as a soundtrack, it must include some text in the title saying it’s a soundtrack
This has to be done a particular way, and is different for different types of media:
| Type of media | Must include in title: |
|---|---|
| Film | Album Title (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) |
| Video game | Album Title (Original Game Soundtrack) |
| Play | Album Title (Original Theatre Soundtrack) |
| Musical | Album Title (Original Musical Soundtrack) |
| TV show | Album Title (Music from the Original TV Series) |
