Can I use a track previously distributed in an album on a single?

Life’s too short to be saying no.

Yep – no issues here! If you’ve released an album containing a song that you wish to release separately as a single, this is fine to do.

Please note, once an ISRC has been approved in the RouteNote system, it can’t be reused on another release. You’ll need to add new ISRCs to the release. If you leave the ISRC section blank, we will automatically generate these for you with no costs involved!

UPCs can’t be used on more than one RouteNote release either, unfortunately. Our system will automatically generate a UPC for your release if you leave the UPC field blank upon creation of your release.

Consider that Spotify may attempt to link your tracks…for more on track linking, click here.
Even with different codes, it’s likely that the play counts will be the same for both versions of the track due to track linking.

In the meantime, feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions or concerns!
