Master your RouteNote release metadata just like you mastered the lyrics.
Like the composer role, the lyricist role must not be used for covers; stores won’t allow you to credit the original artist of a track you’re covering as a lyricist.
The lyricist role can be used for someone who’s also playing on the track, but it’s more often used for crediting a composer who isn’t performing on the release; e.g. someone has written a musical that’s being performed by other performers.
You can add a lyricist when creating your release by…
- Tapping on ‘Add Artist‘
- Selecting ‘Lyricist‘
- Insert the lyricist’s name
- Beauty! All done
